Milkshake est une chanson écrite et produite par The Neptunes, le duo de producteurs composé de Pharrell Williams et Chad Hugo. Ils portent Kelis au sommet puisqu’il s’agit de son meilleur titre dans les charts Us où il a atteint la 3e place.
Difficile de ne pas voir de connotation sexuelle dans le titre Milkshake, surtout après avoir vu le clip. Et pourtant, Kelis jure que cette chanson parle de confiance en soi et « du petit truc qui rend une femme spéciale ». Hmmm, suivez notre regard.
Dans le clip, Kelis port un jean moulant, un top bustier et se trémousse en préparant des milkshakes. Elle goûte la crème et se régale d’une cerise de façon assez ambigüe. Aux cuisines, on reconnait le rappeur Nas, compagnon d’alors de la jeune femme. Ils se sont mariés en 2005 et ont divorcé en 2010. Ensemble, ils ont eu un fils prénommé Knight, né pendant la procédure de divorce.
